Minors
The Site is not intended for individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with Personal Information, please contact us at the address above to request deletion.
Sharing Personal Information
We share your Personal Information with service providers to help us provide our services and fulfill our contracts with you, as described above. For example:
- We use Shopify to power our online store. You can read more about how Shopify uses your Personal Information here: https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy.
- We use Klaviyo to power our email and SMS marketing, including order and shipping updates and, where you have opted in, promotional messages. You can read more about how Klaviyo uses your Personal Information here: https://www.klaviyo.com/legal/privacy.
- We use Loox to collect and display product reviews. If you submit a review, the content you provide (and any photos or your name, if included) may be displayed publicly on the Site.
- We may share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant, or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.
Text Message (SMS) Marketing
If you opt in to receive text messages from us, we collect your mobile phone number and use it to send you order updates, shipping notifications, cart reminders, and, where you have separately opted in, promotional marketing messages. The sections below describe how we handle this information specifically.
- Abandoned cart messages. Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to help keep track of items you place in your shopping cart, including when a cart has been started but not completed (“abandoned”). If you have opted in to SMS marketing, we use this information to determine when to send you a cart reminder message via text.
- Third-party data sharing. We will not share your SMS opt-in or consent status with any third party for purposes unrelated to providing you with text message marketing services. We may share your Personal Information, including your SMS opt-in or consent status, with third parties that help us provide our messaging services, including but not limited to our text messaging platform provider (Klaviyo), phone companies, and other vendors who assist us in the delivery of text messages.
- Location tracking. We do not currently use location tracking or location-based services in connection with our SMS or text messaging program. If this changes, we will update this section to describe what location data we collect and why.
- Your choices. You can opt out of SMS marketing at any time by replying STOP to any text message you receive from us, or by contacting us using the information in the Contact section above. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies.
Behavioural Advertising
We may use your Personal Information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe may be of interest to you. For example, where we use them:
- We may use Google Analytics to help us understand how customers use the Site. You can read more about how Google uses your Personal Information here: https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/. You can opt out of Google Analytics here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- We may use Meta (Facebook/Instagram) advertising tools to show you ads on those platforms. You can manage your ad preferences here: https://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=ads.
For more information about how targeted advertising works, visit the Network Advertising Initiative’s educational page at networkadvertising.org. You can also opt out of interest-based advertising broadly through the Digital Advertising Alliance’s opt-out portal at optout.aboutads.info.
Using Personal Information
We use your Personal Information to provide our services to you, which includes: offering products for sale, processing payments, shipping and fulfillment of your order, providing customer support, and, where you have opted in, keeping you up to date on new products, services, and offers by email and/or text message.
Lawful basis (GDPR)
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), we process your Personal Information under the following lawful bases, as applicable: your consent; the performance of our contract with you; compliance with our legal obligations; and our legitimate interests, which do not override your fundamental rights and freedoms.
Retention
When you place an order through the Site, we retain your Personal Information for our records unless and until you ask us to erase it. See “Your rights” below.
Automatic decision-making
We do not engage in fully automated decision-making that has a legal or otherwise significant effect using customer data. Our processor Shopify uses limited automated decision-making to help prevent fraud (for example, temporary blacklisting of IP addresses or cards associated with repeated failed transactions); this does not have a legal or otherwise significant effect on you.
Selling/Sharing Personal Information
We do not sell Personal Information for money. However, our use of advertising and analytics tools (such as Meta and Google, where used) to show you relevant ads may be considered a “sale” or “share” of Personal Information under some state privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). The categories of information involved are typically limited to device and browser identifiers, IP address, and browsing or purchase activity on the Site. To opt out of this kind of sharing, please contact us using the information in the Contact section above. We do not knowingly sell or share the Personal Information of minors under 16.
Your rights
GDPR
If you are a resident of the EEA, you have the right to access the Personal Information we hold about you, to port it to a new service, and to ask that it be corrected, updated, or erased. To exercise these rights, please contact us through the information above. Your Personal Information may be transferred outside of Europe for storage and further processing, including to the United States. For more information on how Shopify handles data transfers, see Shopify’s GDPR whitepaper: help.shopify.com/en/manual/your-account/privacy/GDPR.
CCPA
If you are a resident of California, you have the right to know what Personal Information we hold about you, to port it to a new service, and to ask that it be corrected, updated, or erased. To exercise these rights, or to designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf, please contact us through the information above.
Cookies
A cookie is a small amount of information that’s downloaded to your computer or device when you visit our Site. We use functional, performance, advertising, and (where applicable) social media or content cookies. Cookies help remember your actions and preferences and let us understand how people use the Site.
Cookies we use include those necessary for the store to function (for example, cart, checkout, and login cookies provided by Shopify), analytics and reporting cookies (for example, from Shopify and Google Analytics), marketing and personalization cookies (for example, from Klaviyo — including for cart-abandonment tracking — and Meta), and review-related cookies (from Loox). For a full, current list of Shopify’s storefront cookies, see shopify.com/legal/cookies.
Most browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can choose whether to accept them through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect your experience on the Site and may limit how we can share information with third parties such as our advertising partners; see “Behavioural Advertising” above for related opt-outs.
Do Not Track
Because there is no consistent industry standard for responding to “Do Not Track” browser signals, we do not currently alter our data practices when we detect such a signal.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.
Complaints
If you would like to make a complaint, please contact us by e-mail or mail using the details under “Contact” above. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
