In the US Army's ANSUR II survey (4,082 men and 1,986 women measured), the median head circumference was 57.4 cm for men and 56.0 cm for women, and the 95th percentile was 60.1 cm for men and 59.7 cm for women. A 7⅞ head (62.3–63.3 cm) is more than 2 cm above the men's 95th percentile. It's a genuinely rare size. ANSUR II's published summary doesn't list percentiles above the 95th, so we won't invent one, but you won't find many people who can borrow your hat.

No, in practice. A 7⅞ is past the regular Richardson 112 and New Era 9FORTY, and right at the published limit of the Flexfit 110 and Richardson 112 XL. "At the limit" means last snap, red mark on your forehead, crown sitting on top.
